The POOL Magazine

Considering the current and uncertain Covid-19 pandemic restrictions, we had to rethink some original components of POOL: A Social History of Segregation, including the facilitation of a public symposium.

With the potential for some restrictions to still be in place, we decided to create and distribute a thoughtfully curated, professionally printed publication called POOL. This printed and digital asset captures the voices and work of a diverse assembly of Black swimming champions, aquatic activists, researchers and scholars through an array of project-specific contributions.

Our magazine provides a platform to extend the reach and depth of POOL beyond the footprint of the exhibition. We have included links here to magazine content to generate awareness about, and support of, the important initiatives featured in the exhibition that are helping to build more inclusivity at every level of aquatic activity.

Please enjoy.
